also, i'm gonna hit the slopes this friday! but, it looks like i'm gonna head to northstar b/c a couple o' my co-workers can get a hook-up thru their friends. i'll brave N*'s craziness for lift tix at 20 or 30 bux.

in re: to the latest pow-- i was just hoping that we'd get a nice sprinkling of fresh to touch *edit*up*edit* the already great conditions. looks like we got hooked up big-time!

Looks like I might be a go for this weekend. I might pick up that season pass deal they're offering. less than $300. if I use it twice this weekend and twice the weekend of the trip then I'll only have to go twice next year to pay for it...crazy.

this might be a chance to test the knee out in a little pow. That would be nice.

Northstar...BOOOOOOOO> I hate that place. Only good thing about it is when you have the pass you can go to Sierra too.... yeah for sierra. Northstar is to flat for me. When the snow is perfect it can be a lot of fun. But there's just too many cool people there for me and too many flat spots. It's flatter than bear and bears not the steepest place around haaaa. Plus the snow usually sucks there. but hey..it's snow..on a mountain...with lifts. its' all good. haaa.

Let me know if anyone heads up to bear this weekend.

I still plan on going. I am actully really looking forward to it. Is anyone bringing thier significant other? My wife may have to show properties that weekend.

 

It's not huge. It's more of a small house. My grandpas place up there is huge and has an indoor hot tub. BASTARD.haaa.

but when it's all rough and tumble "young" bucks we can sleep quite a few.

Jeff...if you want to bring your wife there is a seperate room that is set up for that. But so far I've only talked to guys about this. Haven't heard from any of the gentler sex.

Basically....there is one room upstairs with a full in it. Closet. Private. Etc. If someone brings a sig other they can have it. Otherwise I'll rough it with my bro and we'll take it.

The other room is mine and my bros room. It's got 3 doubles and a full in it. Then there is a big round type couch..I've crashed there quite a few times. That will take 2. And there is a couch downstairs that will take one. I've crashed there as well. There's a big chair down there I've crashed on as well.

Beyond that we have a couple foamers that people can crash on and a lot of floor space. We've had as many as 16 in it. But I'd like to keep it lower just so it's more comfortable.

Right now it looks like not tooooo many so far.
Me, my bro. Possibly justin. possibly cliff. possibly jeff/spouse.

i figure we have comfortable spots for up to 12. If I have to I'll ****** a foam away from home and crash in the closet downstairs...I like it...much quieter. haaa.

We have a tuning station in the garage. 2 irons. all the wax you could need but feel free to bring your own. Couple of scrapers. Blow torch and ptex. The racks are all full with boards down there so no wall space at the moment until I build better racks.

Got a bbq but I'm not sure if there's gas in it..I forgot to check. But that should be a problem. There's a brewery down there with great beer and bomb burgers...and an insanely hot professional mountainbiker bar tender covered in tats. (hopefully my sig other doesn't read this or I'm in deep ****) haaaa.

also a couple good places for breakfast and pizza.

I'll put my racks on my car so I'll have room for 4 total with gear. I'll head up friday night. others can come up whenever they want. I can PM you guys my cell number and the cabin number when the time comes. I'll give directions. We can play tag on the way up if you guys don't mind running late. I usually leave the bay around 8 to avoid traffic. And I drive fast.

beyond that...don't know. Wish the place was a big pimpin castle but it's just a small family house. We use it all year round. No rent out. Had to find a weekend my folks wouldn't be up there...they are up there a lot for business and vacation. They are part owners of a golf club up there by blue lake springs so they're up there for board meetings and up there everytime my dad is out for vacation...teacher. So you catch my drift. Not one of those 7 bedroom rat holes that are all beat to crap.

So next week we'll do a final roll call. Maybe meet up for some coffee if you guys want. I'll give directions and numbers and we'll make plans.

Hopefully we'll get some snow. Otherwise it's gonna be more about the beer and tunes and slush carving.haaa.

But next year if I'm healthy and you guys have a good time we'll plan out a couple peak season trips and I'll show you guys some of my favorite places to ride.

I was catching clean lines on Sunday....what 5 days after a storm......during easter break.

 

If we do get a sudden influx of peeps going I have a couple of aerobeds I can bring. I also have an extra gas cylinder I can have filler if we gas for the barb

We've got the floor space for a few. seems like a reasonably low turn out so far....but could be more if we get snow during the week before. Who knows.

We've tried to get so many different trips together me and others meeting up..others meeting others..etc. usually not much pans out. i've been talking about riding with lance since the beginning of last season..haa. same with cliff.

Hopefully will see somewhere between 5-10. I think that's realistic.

 

I'm definitely down bro. Already requested the weekend off from work. I'm all set.

 

So right now it's 3 definates. including me.

 

i'll be up there for the gunshow too on friday.
