Inside Koenigsegg: Reinventing the internal combustion engine. [VIDEO]
Edit: yes I know the technology is nothing new and f1 has messed around with it for a while but the retrofitted saab was pretty damn cool and the practical implications this could have on engine tech for the average consumer is pretty damn huge.

wow, thank you sir. I figured this video had been seen but I had not seen it posted here and it was the first I saw it. Will be watching the other videos for sure.
I was in Monaco last November and saw an Agera R. Most amazing car I've ever seen. It was on the Grand Prix route and the guy floored it. It sounded like a rocket. My wife doesn't care for cars but even she said it was awesome. I'll try to find the picture I took.

Kossssiiaaggeggg is no joke one of the smartest car guys I've ever known turned me onto them about 10 years ago
I'm not sure what they are "reinventing" here. Formula 1 has been running this system for more than a decade

If you watch all the videos my respect goes to them for taking control over every aspect of the development of the car, right down to the software for designing the boards for the electronics. None of this pick and choose which parts to get from which company. Build it from the ground up the way it should be. This is of course an expensive endeavor, but results in a superb quality product. Now that's passion, and that's doing it right.

F1 uses pneumatic valve springs not quite the same as this as they are still using a traditional camshaft if I am not mistaken. It is also less about reinventing and more about them actually applying it and using it on a car that has some decent miles on it to test the product in real world conditions.
