And now for start the war, East Coast rap > West Coast rap.
We all know that Hip Hop started in South Bronx, but West Coast took it to whole nother level. Hip hop as a culture (not just as a music) evolved in West mainstream or underground. You had the Scratch Picklz who took turntablism to whole new dimension and rappers who broke the 16/ 20 bar with 8 bar hooks. I've never heard jazz loops and breaks sicker than the way LA producers lace it. Don't get me wrong I love the xecutioners, gang star, wu tang, nas. . . But the LA/ SF Underground took it to a whole new level.
