Another track off Illmatic that I loved was Represent. That joint was SO hard. Demigodz (Apathy, Celph Title, Motive) KILLED that beat on Apathy's, "Where's Your Album??!" mixtape from 5 years ago. I had a copy of it and I lost it for years, I finally got another copy of it. Celph Titled's verse was SO sick. "They say a way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but I know a short cut through the chest which ain't too far from it." He has a gem in the freestyle later in the mixtape by saying, "Drivin' through the streets, I see lil' bits of your crew. I can't tell if it's a gay club or a Black Eyed Peas video shoot."

2. Jay Dilla
3. DJ Krush
4. Prince Paul
5. Omid
6. Dan the Automator

"Dial the seven digits
Call up bridget
Her mans a midget
Plus she got friends, yo, I can dig it"
god@m this song is timeless. 16 years old and sounds better than most rap out there today.

speaking of awesome producers, anybody listen to any of nujabes stuff? a lot of people think his stuff is closer to real hip hop than this new age rap.

As far as my producers list. I would put Dr. Dre on top overall, but I just felt a lil' more heart and soul out of Pete Rock and Dilla (damn that "Donut of the Heart" track!).
1. Pete Rock
2. Jay Dilla
3. Dr. Dre
4. DJ Premier
5. Alchemist (been diggin' a lot of his stuff for the past 5 years)
I've been listening to that DJ Deckstream "Soundtrack2" CD for the past week. Awesome stuff. I've been listening to Nujabes since I heard his joints on Samurai Champloo and I used to use one of his songs as my wake up alarm on my old phone. LOL.

I <3 Celph Titled.
The most offensive (to PC nerds), hilarious ball of awesome ever.
Check out "Donkey ***" by him, Apathy and Majik Most.
"Naked Puerto Rican chicks ridin' on donkeys"
And now for start the war, East Coast rap > West Coast rap.

To be honest, I agree with you; west coast rap isn't what it used to be. But don't forget the midwest -- the Rhymesayers and Doomtree crews are pretty impressive.
btw, Brother Ali is playing Oct 17.
I completely agree that east coast>west coast all day.
And where is that brother Ali concert?
I saw atmosphere/blueprint/abstract rude last year and that was DOPE. Ryhmesayers kills it

I lol'ed...
Eazy-E accepted an invitation to a lunch benefiting the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle, hosted by then-President George H. W. Bush in March 1991. A spokesman for the rapper claimed that Eazy-E supported Bush for overseeing Operation Desert Storm.[5]
This year I saw Atmosphere and P.O.S. on the God Loves Ugly tour, and P.O.S., Sims and Hand Over Fist on the Never Better tour. Awesome shows.
