Another work vent

Sorry to dumb on you guys every now and again but it's either that or start breaking stuff at work. Feel free to let this drop like a wet turd.

Ok...so my office is moving. No biggie. We have to pack up our stuff and movers move it.
Ah...but not so fast.

The 3 graphics people get to pack all the production room up. A LOT!!! And today I just got told I have to pick up the whole room of paper..A LOT. And all the priner supplies and a couple fileing cabinets...none of which are in the production room.

Oh but wait....one of the 3 graphics people took vacation...hasn't done anything. The other one hasn't packed a single box either...so it's me..just me. But wait we can't have OT so it's got to be done tomorrow.

Hmmmm.....but I have project to do...real work. And I've got to be here friday with no computer no phones no nothing...all day...WTF?

The writers get the day off or a "telecommute" day. And they don't have to do **** to help us pack back here.

And the damn office we're moving too is smaller. I got a cube in the back...surrounded by other cubes with no windows and crappy lighting. No windows. No nothing.

Right now I have a big cube in an air conditioned production room with one other person. 2 empty cubes between us and a wall on my left. Quite. Well lit. and an 8 foot window right behind me...

BOOOOOOOOOOOO. Funny how the kiss *** that set everything up has TWO HUGE opening windows in his cube and his little buddies cube.

CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know of anyone hiring graphic designers between santa clara and monterey? I need a new job. BAD!!!!. I want to move back to santa cruz. I hate SF. I hate SBC. I hate my job. ****ers are taking my free parking space away....errrrrrrr. I feel like that damn guy in office space and I'm keeping my damn stapler!!!!!!!!!

Today is my last day at work. I will miss a few people, but the whole office politics thing - yeah, no thanks. Crazy stuff. Looking forward to not remembering what it was like to be in a cube.

haha every time you have a thread like this i feel the same way at my work. i totally feel like peter from office space. i just learned today that our company purposely gives bad annual reviews so they dont have to give raises/promotions. it works out well for the company too because we dont learn anything here anyway, so if anyone tried to get another job, they couldnt. no wonder they like to hire people with no motivation or goals in life.

Man, your job sucks.

I would give you advice, but it sounds like your not dealing with rational people. If they
were rational, you could explain the problem to them and try and find a soultion.
But it sounds like (from your previous work related rants) that they would just turn
it on you and make it a reason to write you up.

So, my advice is this:

Look for a new job.
Look for a new job.
Look for a new job.
Find it, then give them 10 minutes notice

probably but his job sucks too. Hasn't gotten a raise in like 4 years. Been with the same machine shop for like 12 years. Makes less than half of what I make and I don't make that much. Yeah he's got cool hours and a good commute but F that.

I've been looking for jobs off and on for the last 18 months.

I'll take a pay cut at this point. Long as there is room to grow in experience and money.

A big step I really need to make is building that portfolio website..but I don't know jack about building them. I need some help. I can design it if I can find someone to help me build it. errrr.

Building websites is easy once you've got the design down. The gruntwork is in getting all the images created and sized properly, generating the HTML, installing and configuring scripts, etc. I'm not really a web guy, though. I can do most of that stuff because I'm a 3D graphics software engineer, but web crap isn't my forte. I'd offer assistance if you need it in any event.

Oh man...This is some BULL****!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're in the middle of an office move right now. One of my coworkers has been gone the last few days and the other one hasn't lifted a finger. I did all the packing myself. Well the one that hasn't lifted a finger still hasn't lifted a finger. The one that was gone came back yesterday and did a ton of packing. I helped her most of the day.

Apparently someone told my boss that she did all the packing.

I don't have **** to do so I asked for a couple hours off today. She said no and that I have to let her know when all the packing is done today as I FINISH the packing.

I"m like...no way. ... **** that. I busted my *** back here. You really think one person can come in and in like 5 hours pack the whole place herself....bull****. I'm so pissed right now.

On top of that she says some crap how other centers are loaded up with projects we can't take. I'm like...hey...I offered to take projects...I can't get blamed for ****ty project assignment.

I'm not gonna be some *****es scape goat...

so ummmmm....you guys might see me on the need work now list pretty soon as I might get fired. I pretty much just told my boss to ***C off.

Gotta take chances some times, I would do the same thing most likely. I hate it when others take credit for work I do.
