Vent: Another Ron Price story...
So I got my rear struts replaced under my extended warranty last week at Ron Price. Anyhow, was taking a slow right turn today into a parking lot and heard a LOUD metal to metal noise as if I ran something like a metal hub cap over. I think this has actually happened several times in the past week but usually I don't have the chance to go back and see if there was really anything there. Anyhow, today it happened and was the loudest it has ever been and when I pulled over I inspected my car and also what road debris was out there. There was no road debris but the left rear of my car now sat a lot lower than my right rear. Even the front right was lifted higher. So I don't know if the workmanship was poor and something was not tightened properly or if it was a blown strut. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them? I'm bringing it into Ron Price again on Monday to have them look at it. I called Carlsen Subaru and asked if I could bring it there since I have more confidence in their technicians but since it was warranty work, Carlsen Subaru couldn't get reimbursed if I brought it there b/c Ron Price could have installed it incorrectly and they would have to take the loss. The car drifts to the left now and I need to nudge the steering wheel to the right to keep it straight.
Anyhow, it may or may not have to do with Ron Price but just making another appointment with Ron Price is something I'd rather avoid. Also, they didn't put my rear seat back properly last time either and I only found out after I got home and redid it all myself. Argh...

When i bought my WRX from Ron Price I paid for all of the servicing upto 30K in advance (silly mistake) and when I took it in for it's 30K service last week they told me that changing the tranny oil and diff oil would be an extra $200 !!!!!!!
Apparently Tranny and Diff oil is not included in the 30K service at Ron Price.

Stopped by Carlsen Subaru to have them see what's wrong with my car. Turns out that as the idiots at Ron Price replaced both of my rear struts, they installed the links to the sway bar wrong and now my left rear strut is held down and won't compress b/c the link should be above the axle, not below it. Called Ron Price service and nobody is answering but their drone appointment clerk. They are true idiots.

Yup, at stock height, all of the suspension is stock. Carlsen Subaru said that it was definitely an installation error on Ron Price's part.

Theres a Ron Price service center in SF on O'Farrell St. I think its worth a try. I took my car there because the ******* service manager @ the SSF Ron Price would not do any work my car since it had an aftermarket exhaust.
I got a rear strut replaced after I started to notice them clunking. I've had no problems ever since.
