I've also gotten over 400 (probably around 430) miles to a tank with a gallon to spare when I got to the station, on 76, but that was driving down 5 from San Ramon to Pomona. Calculated to be 27.6mpg. That was last year.
I did it again in June from Livermore to Walnut on 5 by not going faster than 80 except when there were morons, and i got 27.4 mpg. On brand new tires, maybe the preliminary rubber didn't stick as much so less friction?

here in the bay area there are a TON of 76 stations. I only use 76. The only time I used something else I added octane booster in. This was at that gas station outside of yosemite in the rolling hills. can't remember where it is though.
One thing everyone should do at least once every 10K miles is run a bottle of fuel system cleaner. I was having some fuel issues a while back and my car was loosing power. Turned out it just needed a romp in the hills and a couple tanks with fuel system cleaner and the car has felt great ever since.

some don't realize, and i don't even know if this is scientifically proven, but a couple people have complained about their cars feeling sluggish, after I give it a good spanking on a curvy road, it seems to regain power...

Driving like a granny all the time builds up carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, on the valves, and tends to clog injectors. Giving the car a good romp once in a while helps to clean things out. It also allows the ECU to advance timing in spots where it potentially had to pull some in the past due to bad gas, heat soak, clogged injectors, etc.
