i know if you buy from Oregon, you have to wait 90 days. the sales tax is waived.

My dads friend bought a Corvette from OR and drove it down to CA and got pulled over for 72 in a 65 only because the cop saw the tags and wanted him to pay the $4000 in tax.

 

Here's how it went down. I found the car in FL. I requested that Capitol Subaru buy the car for me. In turn I am buying the car from Capitol Subaru with a "lifetime warranty". Purchase price + shipping+ smog and safety+ a bit for the dealer= my cost. I'm not too happy about having to finance a car right now. The only debt I wanted in '08 was supposed to be in the house. Oh well. Hopefully I'll have it paid off by the end of the year.
