The best way to put this I think is if you would have finished that bold sentence with "to me" and left it at that. Value is very subjective, and to you, these cars have zero value above an old used car. You have made that point OVER AND OVER AND OVER in fact, I would think it would be safe to say that you never really need to talk about how worthless the '93-'01 Subaru Impreza is and just stop talking about which newer models "you could get" for the price of whatever is being asked for the '93-'01 cars you see. You do this every time this topic comes up. Each time before this, I have searched Craigslist and seen that you are still incorrect. I did not check this time for what it's worth, mostly because this ad is weird and it's not a nice condition RS that is being talked about this time.
If you came to look at my old '01 BRP coupe that basically looked like a new car because I spent the time, money and effort to keep it that way, and told me that it should be sold for less because you saw a high miles, un-maintained newer model for a similar price, I would kindly ask you to leave even though you are much taller than me.
Since I own your old wheels and looked over your old car extensively, I see that we have VERY different ways of maintaining and keeping care of our belongings. I have NO IDEA what you would have to do to a set of wheels to make them look like these. NO IDEA how 3 of the tires look nearly like new and one is bald. This is the ONLY way I can see how you would think that someone's older RS coupe would be so worthless. I am not trying to talk down on you - and since you sold your car for $2500, it seems like you are walking your talk.
For people like myself who are on a first-name basis with Trish and Andrew from Subaruparts.com, it's a little different I guess. Sure, I am stupid or at least not financially smart in the ways that I maintain my vehicles, and that is partially why I still have not yet sold my Mini. But, I don't think it's fair to sell my cars for the same price as someone else's that has never seen any care or maintenance. I am still friends with most of the people that have bought my cars, and I have not heard ONCE of one of those cars stranding someone. I am talking 20+ cars here.. I have had a couple of them come back to me - my '95 Impreza is one of them. When I bought it the first time in '04, I bought all the new maintenance parts for the car since it was obvious that no one else ever had. When I bought it back 45k miles later, it still had ALL of those parts that I installed on it. I paid $7500 for my Mini in 2008 and to-date I have paid $7200 in maintenance and repairs on the car. So, I do not want to sell mine for $8,000 just because there is one on CL for that price that doesn't happen to even run... I used to joke that I would love to buy a car that was maintained by me.

Whoa dude, no need to insult me on a personal level... All of what I said was in my personal opinion and has no worth outside of that and I figured people would understand that... I didn't mean for anyone to take offense to it or anything like that. Sorry for sharing my opnion and offending you, I didn't mean it.
Also, regarding those wheels you have (I assume you have the P1 wheels). Those were one of the very first set of P1 wheels ever shipped to the USA and I've had them for about 9 years... I've put well over 100,000 miles on them and they have been through hell and back... From snow to sand, and everywhere in between. Those were my beater wheels and one of them is bent FYI... I used to have 5 of them and the bent one was my spare but I sold one of the wheels to a guy who needed a single wheel and that's why that tire has different wear on it (and why the wheel is bent because I sold the guy the one of the 4 straight wheels).
My RS wasn't a car that I took to car shows... I drove that car, and I drove it the way I wanted to drive it and it was great. I loved that car so much and have so many great memories in it... A couple of years ago however the car was handed off to someone else, and that person handed it off to someone else (so it had two owners after me, but technically I still owned it... long complicated story). The car ended up coming back to me and I sold it in the shape that it was returned to me. I sold the car for very cheap ($2,500 with all the extras!!!) and I knew that I was selling it for well below the asking price BUT I wanted to sell it to someone who I knew would take drive it and enjoy it like I did which is why I sold it to a fellow i-club member (and that price was ONLY for friends... Otherwise I would have sold it for me $$ if it had been a stranger) and I knew that I got my money's worth from that car... I didn't just get my money's worth but I got some of the best times/memories of my life thanks to that car.
I don't want you to think that I didn't like my RS!!! That's totally wrong because if you asked anyone who knew me while I was driving that car still would tell you that I LOVED that car... I drove it aggressively and didn't baby it in any sense, and that's why I bought that specific car in the first place... That's the problem is all the other people I know did the same and drove their cars just as hard and is why I am so weary of paying $10k for a 10 year old car that has been taken to hell and back. It's rare to find an RS in as good as shape as your car is, and why would anyone pay premium $$$ for a car that has been beat up so badly? I'd love to have another 2000 RS as long as it was in brand new shape and I'd totally pay a premium for that, but otherwise I'd tread warily.
My 07 STi will suffer the same fate as my 2000 RS did and I will drive it just as hard and in 2017 I'll buy a new car and will be wary of older models because they are performance cars and don't hold their value like non-performance cars because typically performance cars are modified/driven really hard by their owners and that adds a lot of wear and tear on the chassis/car/parts... I hope that made sense because I can't see what I'm typing due to this crappy display on my phone so sorry if my grammar and spelling is horrible and I hope that made sense.
Yeah, You've Probably Never Heard Of Me.
