So by that reasoning Dodge Vipers are German too, after all Daimler owns Chrysler...

As long as they are built in Molsheim, I would say they are French, regardless of what country the parent company resides in.

I agree with psoper....

NISSAN is not French.....just becuase Renault owns a controlling share of them....

the thing is, VW owns ALL of Bugatti and designed the car

Mr. Bugatti died and some car company bought Bugatti, then they went under and VW bought Bugatti from them.........I think

still doesn't change the fact that both historically, (apart from a few years in the 80's and 90's whena few were built in Italy) and currently - cars bearing the name Bugatti are entirely built in France

Bugatti today has almost nothing to do with pre-war or post war or even the 80's version of the company, when VW bought the name they also bought Ettore's (Mr Bugatti's) estate in Molsheim that included the old factory which they updated and they essentially started the company over from scratch.

Yes it is owned by the V/A group, but so are a lot of companies, Seat's are still spanish and Bentley's are still english, just like Bugatti's are still French.
