After a bit of testing today, I've had very little luck with the 4G. I'm barely able to maintain a signal at my house, even though Sprint's coverage map shows me fairly close to the epicenter of their signal. I did manage one speed test which peaked around 4Mbits/s (the best I've seen with 3G, anywhere, was 2Mbits/s).

Unfortunately, I tried to find a stronger signal around town, and after finding a spot with "excellent" signal, I was only able to pull down 0.2Mbits/s. I'm not sure what the problem was - it's possible it's a software thing, or interference.

I'll be in Stockton tomorrow, maybe I can find a better signal.

Looks like coverage near the Tracy/Stockton/Modesto region (and up/down the 99) has increased a little, according to Sprint's coverage map. I can actually connect inside my house now, but the signal reads poor to fair (tested at 3.3Mbps/0.2Mbps).

I also noticed Stanford picked up a signal, though it isn't listed on the Sprint 4G coverage map. I was able to get "excellent" reception down there (tested at 8Mbps/1Mbps).

I wish the signal was more consistent going in and out of buildings, but some signal is better than none.
