4G coverage in the Bay Area
Picked up an Evo 4G a few weeks ago, and honestly I thought hell would freeze over before I saw a 4G signal near me (in Tracy) - apparently I was wrong.
Sprint just announced live coverage in Stockton and Modesto, but it apparently stretches down I-99 from Lodi to Merced, and around Los Banos, Chowchilla, and Visalia.

I glad sprint gives 4g to that places that won't pass a credit check for one of the phones they sell. How about Los altos, Los gatos, San Carlos, San Mateo lol. Guess that's what happens when they spend more money promoting nas car other improving the network haha
On a side not how is the battery life of that phone?

5000/1000 on my phone...
I've torrented, tethered, 700-900kb down, but have hit 1.2Mbits down sustained for about 10minutes. Downloaded a 860MB video of MotoGP in 25mins.

You'll get your LTE in a year I think.

I just tested 2.3 down and 1.2 up right now on my iPhone 4 and 1.8 down and .8 up on a friend droid X... San carlso AT&T and Verivon network
Technically, for me to be able to get 1.2MB down on that download, it means my link speed was 12Mbits!!
Utorrent on my PC. I then turn 4g on, wifi off on my phone. Once it's connected, I connect the phone to my PC with the USB cable, choose "share internet", 450Mbps link speed created.
I then click on something to DL, Utorrent opens it up and i'm downloading from 700kB-900kB speed, sometimes up to 1.2MB speeds.
1.2MBytes =12Mbites download link. INSANE!

I don't get 4g at my house in Tracy, but I've gotten it around some areas. I use my wifi at the house, its faster than the 3g. I was getting a good, strong 4g signal in Mountain View.
