$550 from santa cruz... should be around the same price @ bay area dealers

Call the dealerships. It can vary, and a slightly longer drive could save you a bunch of money.

I got a quote of $270 from Maita in Sacramento and a quote of $450 from Shingle Springs Subaru.

Maita did good work too, as far as I can tell.

I just had it done on our outback last week and it cost 278. Things I did and told them not to do was the oil change, air and fuel filter.
