Since this is your second ticket in less that 18 months, you won't get to do traffic school. So you might as well contest it, but do it in writing. Some cities pay their cops like an extra $300 or so to show up to court if you decide to contest in court, but don't get anything to write up a rebuttal to your written statement. Just make sure it's well written and you have some "evidence" to prove your case. Photos, engineering reports, proof that what the cop said you were doing violates several laws of physics, etc.
