I'm about 5 hours north of the Bay Area so availability of junk yards and shops is a little rough. Ideally I'd try to get things done myself or with some help from the community up here. I could do without paint for the time being as long as the rust stays away.

I'd prefer to stick with the 02 front end since the head lights, fogs and blinkers are still working. Used front end parts are hard to come by but I'll keep an eye out.

O yeah for sure then just order them and bolt them on. Will take like 30 minutes. (well maybe a bit longer for you if you don't have all the fender and underbody plastics removed like I do) https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html

I looked them up for you:

Front bumper: Sedan - 2002-03 $139.04

Passenger side Fender: Sedan Right - 2002-03 $164.66

Bumper's plastic so it can't rust. Fender's aluminum so it won't really "rust", dunno about oxidization will play into not painting it. But you can just layer a coating of rust protectant/primer with a $5 can of the stuff from Home Depot/hardware store, and the body shop can strip it off later when you decide to paint.

im an idiot

yea the stock wrx tires are horrible at changing direction quickly in the rain, and most of all just have horrible communication to the driver, all around. I'd say they are easily the worst tires i've ever had on any of my cars.

This accident sounds oh so familiar

I had a pretty bad accident even involving a taxi driver but unfortunately I lost the wrx in the process.
