how much riding experience do you have?

Yeah..those accident reconstruction people are good. I had an accident with my truck. Car ran a red. I slid. hit. Totalled...etc.

My folks know a guy that used to work for ford and now does accident reconstruction. He put in everything to the point of my tread debth and body weight, skid lengths.etc...that detailed. Came out with this fat report saying there was no way I was speeding...I said I was going 42 in a 40. The report came back 40mph. Impact at 5-10mph. All the force of the accident came from the other car...blah blah...Long story short I lost my truck because the police officer misquoted me and screwed up the report and refused to own up to his mistake and my insurance company wasn't helping at all.

But needless to say...those guys no their stuff.
nope dog didn't survive, and i love animals so i took it hard.
the neighbors made a statement to the chp saying they've called the county sheriff multiple times about the dog not on a leash, but nothing was done. the owner was never repremanded about it. poor dog.

NO wait..write this **** down (you know who you are) and read it again if you live to be 70. You'll figure it out wiseas.

3) Some of you are ALL over her for doin a Uturn. Fine. But if youre gonna pull that crap, you cant excuse the kid for speeding. You cant have it both ways guys. Traffic laws are traffic laws. Both speeding and an illegal turn contributed to this. Period.

4) "He couldnt be going that fast.." How much energy do you think it takes to deform the A-pillar and roof support in a full sized sedan? Cars are built to withstand what..25-35mph side impacts and leave the cabin somewhat intact concering the driver..and that with another full sized car impacting. Not just a bike.

5) Seeing how little skid there was, the poor kid wasnt doing as a rider should. Look ahead, a LONG way ahead. Know what ANY car within 5-10 seconds of you is doing..or likely to do. Have a way out. He wasnt, he didnt..learn from this guys.

Its the same concepts in road racing, Im constantly about 15 seconds down the track visually..or as much as I can be depending on terrain and traffic. I know whats up there, and I know whats back behind me. Learn to drive like that, it will save your skin..car or bike.

i hope this wasn't geared toward me.

if it was, i hope i wasn't coming off as i knew it all. i just wanted everyone else to do the same and not pass judgement without knowing all the facts . also i never said anything about old people and i wasn't making excuses for either party, we don't know who's fault it was. i just wanted people to show some respect, not trying to be p.c. police either, i don't think it's p.c. i think it's just plain human compassion. feel bad that people were killed/hurt, not say OWN3D that's all.

i think i'm going to stop posting now.

Here are the other pics of that accident.

It's amazing how people can analyze speed/impacts/fault by seeing one picture. You guys should work for the police. Save alot of time and money for them. One pic and it's all done.

3 times the speed limit according to one person. Have you seen a bike hit a car like that at 25, 35, 75 mph? Where are your calculations? How did you account for all the variables?

Some kid died in an accident. No one here saw it. Yet everyone is quick to pass judgement and post "facts"

to be honest looks like he was going the speed limit, lady pulled out infront of him, he jammed on his brakes (rear first, then later front as he knew he asnt going to make it) which caused him to endo and attempt to turn the bike (thus causing him to fly off the bike and hit the drivers door and then end up on the hood) while the bike went straight into the back of the door.

that is my take and i am willing to go to court and testify..

Man guys, I was just making a guesstimate that the kid was going very very much faster than 25mph. My estimate was based on the fact that he did have time to brake (so if going 25 when he saw her, he'd be going <25 at impact). I have a hard time believing that at sub 25mph speeds the motorcycle could get impaled/stuck in the side of that big grampa car. Speedtoys would agree.

Od3ss3y...I rode/commuted for ~4 years in this area. :P

I think it's terribly sad either way. Old people and teenagers, get 'em all off the road.

It's easy to say age is a factor, but what it comes down to with motorcycles is experience. Look at the death statistics for middle-aged riders... you'll be surprised. There was some middle aged dot com CEO a few years back who bought a Ducati 996 as his first bike, and died on Skyline (I belive it was a single vehicle accident, I could be wrong).

This kid may have been riding dirt bikes for 12 years. We don't know.

That said, it's insane for *anyone* to be riding a 600-class sportbike as a first bike. I don't care who you are.

The accident has to be the old lady's fault because "older people don't drive as good as they used to?" WTF? I guess any fight involving an Irish guy should be his fault because "the Irish like to get drunk and fight." Got a crime with a black suspect? Close the case boys, the black guy must be guilty cause everybody knows they're only do sports and crime.

Why don't you wait for the facts of the case, rather than judge an individual overinclusively based on a perception of a group they belong to?
