****ing bikers!
this morning going to work, there was a biker, (bicycle rider) riding on the road. the thing i hate is that he never stopped for red lights. he just slow down look around, and bang he pass the light. he ran 3 red lights, and on the 3rd one i was at the light stopped already. as he pass by me i HONK the **** out of him for like whole 3 seconds. he looked back and kept on going. then 2 more red lights. the whole way that i was going to work 5 red lights.
even PEOPLE walking stop for the lights, and motocycle stop for the lights. why the hell bicycle can just ran lights like that.
that guy was wearing those riding gears, with panasonic shirt and crap. its just bull**** i think.

getting in a collision with a biker IS treated the same way.
they have to follow the same rules of the road as everyone else.
and yes they do get ticketed for stuff like that

They do this daily in palo alto and I flippin hate. I have seen so many times where I have a green or others do and the people on bikes here don't even slow down or look on their bikes and run red all the time. Seen them even get mad when a car person doesn't see them and almost hit them. In my area the bikes seem to think nothing will happen to them cus they have right of way 100 percent of the time.

they dont have the right of way.
complain to your local pd enough and they will set up traffic control posts for bicycle only enforcement.
i know were i work we have Problem Solving Officers whof are assigned to exactly situations like this.
They will set up "stings" and address certain problems pertaining to community's complaints in an attempt to satisfy the community.
somtimes it works great, others not so much. it depends on the situation.
crack heads will always be crack heads....

they do that around here too. They forget they have to obey the same vehicle laws. I've seen them fly through stop signs without even slowing down.
I live on a twisty back road that is pretty narrow at times and has a decent amount of traffic. Bikers will ride in the middle of the lane (legally they have to be as far right as possible) and won't move over to let you safely pass. When you're in second gear at like 4k holding down the horn, it's not like they don't know you're there! I've seen a group of bikers in the double digits like 7 bikers long by 3 bikers wide. Had a car been going the opposite direction while another one came up on them from behind from around one of the many blind corners, many people would have died/been seriously hurt. One of the stragglers actually had the audacity to motion for me to slow down. I slammed on the brakes and went off on them. Once I got cell phone reception I reported it as a hazard in the roadway. I wonder if the residents can petition to not allow bikers on the road for safety reasons.

I wasn't meaning that they have right away cus I know they don't, they as in the bikers think they do. I know the law states that they have to follow the laws of the road. I see a lot of it here living by Stanford campus and well the students that I have ran into think they are above the law and everyone else just cus mommy and daddy fork all their bills for them.

and the thing i hate also, is that on the hills and stuff. they scream as you as you drive by telling you to SLOW DOWN, when you just pass by them close. that is because they are on teh ****ing road and taking up the CAR lane. WE as car driver PAY for the road, we PAY to drive on the road. the bicycle DON'T. we own the road, not them.
I follow all traffic laws. The one time I attempted to squeeze in behind an SUV to follow it through a dangerous intersection, thus running the stop sign, I got a $$$ ticket. I totally agree that lots of cyclists are irresponsible and don't follow traffic laws. Every time I see someone blow a stop sign or light when I'm out riding, tI chase them down and yell at them - because their behavior leads to just the kind of irrational attitudes expressed in this thread - I don't want to be a victim of someone else's road rage.
Regarding the twisty roads, it is ONLY safe and legal for a car to pass when it's safe to do so. Cyclists are fully aware that you are back there, waiting to pass. If they are in the middle of the lane, it is for the express reason that it's unsafe to pass there. If you pass me in a sharp curve, get on the yellow line and there's a car oncoming, you're going to swerve into me to avoid a collision...so it's my butt on the line. Just be patient and pass when it's safe. Getting on the horn and acting like a fool does not help - I have taken the plates of many a dangerous driver and called 911 on them....I would hate to have to do it on a Subie.
It could be a fellow I-Clubber out there. Take a breath and don't be a dick.

We all pay for the roads. We all own the roads. Cyclists have just as much ownership claim as you do, and have a legal right to share the road with motorists. If you don't like it, take it up with your local town/city council and pass a law to ban cyclists on 'your roads'. Otherwise, please close your mouth and keep your ignorant worldview to yourself.
Also, you are required by law to leave a minimum of 3 feet when you pass. Don't pass closely. It's not worth endangering lives out there.
