This applies to a good many of us who use a TDO4 on their RS or L, you know. This setup looks like a marketing scheme to me. Why is a Garrett center section and turbine better again??

The Garrett Center Section allows the use of the Garrett Compressor Housings and Compressor Wheels which bring the user a much more affordable, readily available and higher flowing Compressor Options that will be completely bolt on...
This is only limited by the turbine's effieciency to flow the neccessary amount of exhaust gases for the compressor to reach its maximum potential...
This is what I've been pushing for since I see the IHI turbos selling for more than I feel they are worth...
This is a great option for all owners that are using WRX style UpPipes...

Garrett's are easier to work on though

Whats your point?

Point is, IHI's are made and sold as one complete unit built, balanced, inspected, and tested by one very credible source. Garrett sells pieces of turbos that are assembled by many different sources, some know what they're doing and some don't. They're like legos, just snap together and go. That's why so many people have better luck with IHI than Garrett. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you're buying a Garrett, know who built it and what it was used on.

Garrett is just like IHI, KKK, Mitsubishi, Holset, and other turbo manufacturers...
They build turbochargers from scratch...
Its the tuners that order parts from Garrett, IHI, KKK, and Mitsubishi and then put them together for the enthusiast...
Ever heard of Apex Integration? They use IHI turbocharger parts and put together their own hybrids for the enthusiasts...
You can buy any T3 or T04 or T25 from Garrett as you would buy a VF23, VF35, or VF22 from IHI...Just as you would buy a TD04, TE04, or whatever else Mitsubishi sells...
Garrett is more affordable as their turbos are mostly made in the US unlike IHI which are made in Japan...
