Thumbs up Hyperion offers employees $5,000 if they buy hybrid car

http://www.bizjournals.com/sanjose/s...29/daily4.html

Business software maker Hyperion Solutions Corp., of Sunnyvale, says it will give $5,000 to every employee who buys a car that gets at least 45 miles per gallon.

That's awesome

damn...i wonder what the impetus is? I can understand GM giving friends and family major discounts, but what does Hyperion contribute to hybrid vehicles? IC? batteries? software?

Get a volkswagen TDI, 50 mpg.... then mod the crap out of it. Or, you could just possibly just do a drivetrain swap. I know a guy who got a deisle golf from the 80s, and swapped in a 1.8t. Great idea because if the chassis has a deisle tag on its vin, you dont have to smog it.

Maybe they want to appear as an environmentally friendly company.
