How much do you charge to replace a CV boot? And How long will it take?
I think i might have placed a very tiny tear on my cv boot (while installing my suspension) as the spring shot out and hit/smashed/squish the cv boot makeing a small tear. I didnt' noticed it until after I drove to work and saw a splatter of gear grease/cv joint grease..
Thanks

Ok Gino,
From the looks of it, i'm 99% sure its from the CV boot, but I'll let you take a look at it anyways.
So, can I make an appointment for "THIS" week (7/27-7/30). tommorow, thursday, friday?? The sooner the better
Worse case Monday. (First thing mornings). I wish I can do saturday but I will be out of town.
I don't wanna be driving with grease leaking all over the place and making things worse (as I commute 100miles a day).

It's me Gino, you will need parts as we do not have any CV boot instock.
Just to make it clear, the $70 is labor and parts is seperate ;)...

Gino,
What are my options??
Which is easier??
#1 Can I just have you guys get my a new axle and we just do a direct swap over. How much is an axle ???? around $100?
#2 buy just the "boot" itself and replace it? (Don't know what a boot would cost).
How long would it take for you to even get a hold of the parts??
Basically I can see doing a axle swap be the fastest and easiest, or I think.. or is it not too hard to just replace the boot (as the boot will obviously be cheaper)?
Let me know. $70 + parts. Will everything be under $200 be sufficient (assuming axle replacement)?
But what ever the cost is, it will surely beat driving with a busted CV boot then paying for more damages later.
Can I setup an appointment for Thursday or Friday first thing (the first customer) in the morning?
Thanks

Gino,
I just want to remind you (as requested) of my appointment tommorow "8/4" morning when you guys open (I think with riggs?) for the CV boot job.
I tried giving your shop a call, but the phone was busy... (i'll try again later)
I got the CV Boot, clamps and bottle of axle grease.
Hope thats all I need

Hey Gino..
Again Thank you for your service on my CV Boot.
I meant to write this earlier, but didn't have time, but I noticed after driving for a few days, that on the Drivers Side (side where you swapped out the axle) is making noises. Noticebly it sounds like a tree branch snapping or something is stuck and flaps out. This mostly happens when I make turns more noticeably on right turns. I'll try to take a look at it over the weekend and find out if maybe something is loose or what not.
But, if I can't resolve the issue, I would like to bring it in for you to take a look at. Is that cool? Sometime maybe next week?

Hey Gino,
I was at your shop this morning (930) but no one showed up till 10ish. =/ I had to take off at 10:30 as I had to get to work. So maybe I'll have to re-schedule another day. But I did bring you your Apple Donuts ;-).
Anyway, I noticed that my (I think it was my original) original axle is sitting on the floor, and it also has the gold ring on it. It also looks good as new. Is it rebuilt??
I think after tightening that bolt, the noise seem to have disappeared (from the drivers side).
But I notice another noise. But its coming from the passenger side (sounds like it). It happens when I step on the brakes while crusing on 2nd gear .. say to slow down for a speed bump. It sounds like something is binding, then it frees up .
When is another good day I can come in, i'm gonna run out of "vacation" time to take out from work =/.
here are pictures of the axle
passenger side - with the gold ring
drivers side - missing the gold ring
