all I've been advised is new clutch is required. The tranny SHOULD hold up if you treat it right.

Download these and drive like he does, and you should have no problems with your (new aftermarket) clutch. The gears will hold roughly 300 lb./ft. of torque if you treat it right.

I'd like to point out that their are people on this board who have broke first with stock power levels. But that was because they dumped the clutch at like 5500 rpm's. so as along as you slip the clutch you should be o.k.

Remember that the wrx has the same tranny as we do just different gear ratio. But we have the ability to make more torque at a lower gear killing rpm. Just be careful and you will be in good shape or you could just do a 6mt swap and proably never have to worry about killing a tranny again.

Hope this helped, later.

It's very wide ratio, and the gears are taller. It's not really any stronger, but the taller gears result in somewhat less stress on things (gears are torque multipliers).
