i think it would be cheaper to just find your self a 2.5 short block from the STI i have heard of prices as cheap a 1700.

I work at a new car dealership so I could get it at cost, but I need to know if my dohc heads will fit!

As far as the heads go, I believe that the sti short block has the same bolt pattern as the WRX and the 2.5 RS. Thats what the seller said on ebay anyway. The seller was selling a 2.5 sti short block and thats what he said, so I would imagine that the heads off a WRX or a 2.5 RS would work, reguardless of how many cams it has.

Hope this helps,
Greg

The DOHC aren't really as good as the SOHC heads. That's why FHI switched to them. They are about the same on top end, but the SOHC makes a lot more torque.

Ahem...A friend of mine has the 2.5l STi shortblock and 98 RS 2.5l SOHC heads.

Will the RS cams be sufficient?

Can I...I mean my friend, use the WRX cams and which cams would work better?

thanks!

The car is a WRX and not a RS.
