I posted this here because if anyone knows about swapping out pedals, it's this crowd. I have a set of Momo Turismo pedals to put on my MY03 WRX Sedan, and am haveing troubles with the gas pedal. I know the clutch and brake are covers that slip off, but the gas pedal feels like a one piece unit with a plastic backing. Do I just drill through the top of the OEM pedal and mount my new one, or does the cover remove like the other two. It feels like I am going to break the gas pedal when trying to pry the sides up. Please help, because downshifts are a real ***** with the stock configuration. Thanks.

This is probably not what you want to hear, but you can greatly improve downshifts with the stock pedals by bending the gas pedal over closer to the brake pedal. It's easy to do, costs no money and you don't have to worry about add on pedals getting loose or falling off. This is what we did to the USTCC WRX racecar.

Thanks Gary for the response. For some reason, I figured I would hear from you on this subject. Congrats on the win with the exception of the added weight. :confused: I agree with competitive racing, but if someone can just flat out make their car go faster, why restrict them instead of forcing the rest of the field up??? Anyways, I will look at bending the gas pedal over before installing the overlays. Thanks again.

if your still planning to install the momo pedals,
i just drilled through the gas pedal (if your pedal is like a gc8, it was a one piece plastic pedal).

Yes, I figured out it was a one piece plastic pedal, so I just drilled through it. They worked really well last week at the track, so I am satisfied. Thanks for the reply,
