Thanks for the tune on my STi last week. I was at Thunderhill over the weekend, Friday and Sat, and the car ran flawlessly, even with the cracked wastegate housing. It was pulling hard and I was able to knock off 4 sec from my previous lap time getting a 2:04 over the bypass. The only issue I had was when the fuel was at about 1/3 tank, it was cutting out after turn 15 going onto the front straight. The temp creeped up also. I think it might be a fuel pickup problem? Other than that, it was flawless!
Thanks GST!!!

A 2:04 is a great time. And yes it is a fuel pick up problem coming out of turn 15. I had the same problem. Nothing quite like wide open throttle coming down the main staight and getting the fuel to cut out for a second. I thought the motor was gone. Now I never go out with less than a little over half of a tank at Thunderhill just for that reason. I have never had a pick up problem at any other track. Just turn 15 at T-hill.

Congrats on the great time! Yeah a lot of Subie owners including myself have had that problem in 15, easiest solution is to keep the car above a quarter or even a half a tank.
Thanks,
Greg

I'd recommend an oil cooler. My 05 STi stays cool now at Thunderhill. 2:04 is great time! I also get the gas starvation issue at 15.

Thanks everyone! Actually, I my time is only 2:04.8 ;). Maybe the fuel pickup is on the right side of the tank. So in the long right turn of 14 and 15, I get fuel starvation at 1/3 tank. I filled the tank to about 2/3 tank and the problem went away. And the temp increase might have been the AFR got a bit lean during the starvation which increased the cylinder temp. I'll just have to remember to run with more fuel at Thill.

With the cracked wastegate housing Mike was able to get 260whp and 290wtq on pump gas on Cobb AP with used catted DP and used Greddy EVO2. Other stuff I have are Tein Flex coilovers, Whiteline front and rear sways and steering rack bushings, 235/40/17 Nitto NT01 tires, STi engine and tranny mounts, harness bar w/5 point belts, OMP seat. Still had full interior because I was running in NASA TTB class and I had to keep all of the interior parts to stay in TTB.
