What a weekend of racing! First and foremost we would like to thank our driver Paul Gerrard and the guys back at the shop, our generous sponsors as well as the GT Live, Redline and VIR Staff for putting together a great event! We traveled 14 hours straight to the Virginia International Raceway for the GT Live tour to participate in the Redline Time Attack portion of the event. For those who missed it was a weekend packed full of racing; Redline Time Attack, Drifitng, Bike stunts, Rally Track, BFG Go-karts, Tarzan's Lap Battle, Grand AM racing and Koni Challenge series, WOW!
First day of practice we were experiencing problems, the high speeds where producing some tremendous downforce on the front of the car and the splitter was dragging all over the track slowing us down. We ended the day with only 6 practice laps and times in the 2.01 second range during the 1st qualifying session with the Road Race Tech BMW M3 and DTM racing EVO running closely on our tail. Our car was hitting 170 MPH on the front straight bouncing off the rev-limiter in the 5th gear! We knew the car had a much quicker time in it so we spend the rest of the day adjusting the splitter and dialing in the suspension to prepare the car for the day two of the event. The next morning we arrived at the track a little after 6 am having to grid for the first practice session at 7:45 in the morning. Needless to say the car did great posting better lap times than day one on the low boost setting! During the final qualifying session everything came together, with the car dialed in and the skillful driving by Paul Gerrard we posted a blistering time of 1.57.9 wining the Unlimited AWD class and taking the quickest overall time for the event.
