I believe the highest we have seen on straight pump gas was 279whp and was catless with coated headers of some kind and APS TMIC.

I put out 262 with my stage 2 stuff and within the next week, I should have some more goodies, so we shall see. Speaking of new goodies, I need to get retuned after I get these on and am too lazy to call you guys, what do you have available on the 30th?

I think mine was around getting around 263-5whp finally after fixing my exhaust leak, putting on a real 3" catback and getting my AVC-R fixed but then my clutch started to say good night Irene on the dyno. Since I have a 6-7hr drive home Mike said we better call it a day :D.

I am still on a dying stock turbo but have pretty much everything else done.

The clutch is just done, 48k and idk how many launches at the track (so many I can't count). Hopefully when the ACT street clutch goes in this week I can see what my final #'s are.

Thanks for hanging in there with me Mike.

Just wondering, does a EWG VF39 qualify as a stock turbo?

If you have an STi that came with a VF39, I believe that is considered stock turbo. EWG doesn't affect what turbo is on there. Sean has the fastest stock turbo record and he was ewg.

That's my point, that turbo, the VF39 is no longer a stock turbo when you modify it. To each his own.

IMO or the way I see it Sean has the fastest modified VF39.

I see modifying like porting it and stuff. I think that altering the wastegate shouldn't disqualify you from claiming "stock turbo" but I definitely see your point and you're probably more right.

why wouldn't it be modifying it? You are changing it for more power. :invasion:

I have had that his is port/polished but anywho's his car is frickin quick and he is one hell of a driver.

Back on subject I hit 268.8 HP and 288.8 TQ on the heartbreaker. Mods were Titek catless DP, greddy evo 2 catback, 3 port boost solenoid, and a walbro 255.

I have that cbe and dp as well. Thanks GST. lol.

Hey STiYLIN, if someone were to use a helper spring to hold the wastegate shut on the stock turbo, in your view, is that considered modifying the stock turbo? What about using an aftermarket actuator?

I feel that when you mod the turbo itself, or any part in it, it is no longer a stock turbo.

Our bottlenecks with our turbo are of course the small size and the crappy internal WG. So when you change that part, you are no longer in the "stock turbo category" imho. Your turbo is technically "modified" because you changed something on it. On our cars the WG is a part of the stock turbo.

There's no gray area:
If it is as it left the factory, it's stock.
If it is not as it left the factory, it's modified.

This can be applied to everything in life...cars, houses, women's boobs, etc.

tru.

EWG makes a HUGE difference on any car. No way in hell is a turbo stock as soon as you bypass the internal wastegate for a system thats much more efficient.

thanks man! I appreciate it, your car is hella fast, anything above 280-290whp on that dyno is scary fast. You also make crazy good torque too, Mike is the man!
