V1 owners: strange K-band spikes??

So I am just about to stop using my V1. A friend says he can show me how to turn off X and K band, but this is just weird to me because it just started becoming a problem. I have had and used radar detectors for a long time now, so I am used to the X band crap but the V1 on "L" mode is usually really good about not falsing. Lately though I will get a K band signal that will be full strength, and then just fade down to nothing and drop. This happens all the time now - out of no where, full strength K band spike, then it slowly drops to nothing. Then on Saturday I got onto 101 at Brittan, and had a full-strength K-band signal all the way (think constant BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE with all the lights lit) down to Willow Rd which is a pretty good distance.

Anyone else having this happen? My V1 used to never false, and now it's pretty much unusable because it's constantly beeping. K band only. Really irritating...

I get it all the time, I think its all the road sensors they use for traffic monitoring. The only one I really pay attention to now is Ka (CHP radar)

Yeah, it's just hard when K band is always going off. I guess I will disable K and X, and just have it report back on Ka.

hmmm.... that's strange... And I have mine set on default, no filter, where it picks up everything. My V1 still works since it's still picking up CHPs... I've been wanting to upgrade my V1 with that Pop3 thing for a while now...

I have this same problem with my silver bullet($88 costco special).
Since it still works, I am not convinced a V1 would be a good investment for me.

I get random K signals all over the place in my area with my V1, but it is always the same spots so I know when it is going to go off.

I have also gotten to the point where I can notice it just as easily by it flashing as with the beeps, so I leave the volume way down so it is silent and I go off visual only. Unless I am on a road trip out in the middle of nowhere I turn up the volume since you don't get false readings out there.

The bay uses radars to track traffic to tell you where the trouble spots are. I think it's 510info or something like that? I'm not sure, but that's what is setting all of them off.

Well sigalert uses FastTrak passes to generate that info in part, but the weird thing is the K-band thing I am talking about is pretty new.

Haha.. Yeah, I was gonna mention the laser thing on that screen. Every time..

What's weirder is the horn on my Celica would set off laser alerts on my old Uniden detector. Odd.
