why is my ecu pulling timing? its doing it alot lately. I disconnect the battery and it goes back to normal. Then shortly later its doing it again. I wonder if it has to do anything with my Ecutek tune.

possibly the hot temperatures its been as of lately. the intake air temperature sensor is in combination with the maf. and if the maf heats up the IAT gets screwed up and likes to pull timing if the temps get too hot. I'd say one of the biggest flaws subaru did with the maf design because the "true" IAT's would be at the throttle body.

try changing gas stations. This could be it but I would agree that it is probably heat related.

Also try putting in some 100 octane, that cures timing. :)

true true, maybe the gas has been bad at the past gas stations.....

Summer + heat = sucks for our cars!!!!:( Are you data logging your car? How's your boost, and is it hitting target boost levels? Any negative knock corrections? Are you running your car with the ac on? If so, it will feel like it's running on 3 cylinders except for them v8's and up cruising around on full blast.:D Mine also feels like a dog with a tmic.;)
