Widest tire for my setup...
Hello everyone, it's time to get some new rubber for my car and I'm needing some assistance with the size tire I can fit with the current setup I have. Right now, car is mainly just a spirited daily driver from Vacaville, CA to Concord, CA, M-F...approx 35mi each way. Currently, I have the following:
-03 WRX sedan, Tokico D'specs, Tanabe GF210 springs 17x8.5 +48 with 235/45r 17 tires
It fills the wheel wells pretty well, but would like a little wider tire under there if it will fit. I'm considering some 245/40r 17's but not sure if I would have to have the fenders rolled (really not wanting the hassle of doing that....). Also, any draw backs of going from 45r's to 40r's? Is it going to be louder? Rougher ride? Can I stick with 245/45r 17?
Thanks for the suggestions!
