why do they use 15" more then 16 for rally wheels

why do they use 15" more then 16 for rally wheels

same as the title why are 15 inch wheels perfered over 16 inch wheels for rally because of the side wall?
just wondering gonna get in to rallying soon just trying to get info

ya for rally one more quick question i read some threads about the 15 not fitting 4 pot brakes are the pot refering to the 4 piston? would stock 2002 wrx breaks clear a 15 inch oz gravel tire?

Yes, 4 pots refers to 4 piston calipers. I think there are some 15" wheels that might fit but you'll probably have a hard time finding them.
