What Will Fit Without Rub/Hassle?

I have a 2002 WRX sedan and am in the market for upgraded wheels/tires and possibly new springs to eliminate the unsightly wheel gap. I am weighing on 18x7.5 wheels with 225/40 tires. I am assuming these will fit?
In addition, If I did use this setup with new lowering springs, and all other suspension components stock, will I have to buy new cambers/struts down the road?
I've heard a few horror stories of struts thrashed before from new springs. thanks for the help.

Those wheels will fit well, even with moderate lowering. You could drop it to the ground, but when adding positive camber to keep the tires flat, it gets closer to the fender. You can lower up to about 1.5" without having to change camber - which is what I'd recommend. This will also be easier on your struts, but will still kill them sooner. Best to get new ones with the springs to save on labor.
