volks te 37 size?

i want my car to have the look of the nissan skyline wheel ( only the wheel) but i dont know the exact offset and width. i am looking at 18 inches for rim size tho. what should i look for when trying to get these rims and have the deep center look? also with a bigger lip to it. maybe deeper the the one in the pics. im kinda thinking either of 8.5 inches or 9.0 inches on the width. can the 04 sti handle these specs?

i'm not sure if the TE37s will clear the Brembos on the STi, there has been some discussion about it. getting anything bigger than 18x8 or 18x8.5 on is going to be hard without other modifications. my guess is that you're going to be looking for an offset of arround 50-52...

There is one fundamental problem that you will have: WRXs are not Skylines. R34 skylines can easily wear 265/35/18 on about a 9in wheel. I have seen a race prepped scooby sedan on that size tires & custom Fiske wheels & the tires cleared the body by about 1inch. That brings us to the second problem: wide, high offset 5x100 wheels are kinda hard to come by. Volk does make 8.5 in wheels for scoobies, but I am pretty sure those do not feature the "Falling Disc" look that you seem to be after. When I reclaim my Volk catalog I can be more specific, but generally the widest wheels that will clear OE bodies are 255s and/ or 245s. I am sure that one could easily put 275s or maybe even 285s on a R34. BUT if you do get it to work out POST PICS!! I dream of the day when i can mount 245 under my wagon.

i see there are problems but is it still possible to put on 9 or 9.5 width wheels? with 18 inch. also read the post on understanding offsets but im still confused. is it negative if you have it towards the outside and positive towars the inner part of the car? or is that reversed?

Gruppe-S has some recommendations on wheel size for scoobies on their site. Go to the Subaru section, and check under tires. The specs are on the first page. Remember that these are recommendations, and do not include tire sizes, but it's a good place to start.

I run 17x8 w/ 235/45, lowered about 25mm/35mm and I get some scrubbing in the rear on quicker turns. I also have at the very most 4mm or 5mm between the strut and the tire. You're going to have to do some hefty changes to fit 8" wheels with tires to match.

p.s. [edit[ oh and they're 46mm offset

The lower the offset, the farther away from the center of a car the wheels will sit. Most deep dish wheels w/ 2+inches of lip have low offsets, sometimes less than zero.

You can have custom 9.5 or 9in wheels made & then redo your suspension, fenders & wheelwells to get tires that wide to fit. You can do anything to your car if you throw enough money at it.

I assume that you have a WRX sedan, if so then you should be able to fit 8.5in wheels & 255 width tires with aftermarket coilovers. Basically if a wheel/tire combo will rub, then it will generally be rubbing on the fender or the strut, so by going with aftermarket coilovers you increase clearance above the tire & inboard of the tire as well (most coilover have less width than the OE strut & spring combo). Rolling, removing the lip, or getting wider fenders will give more clearance on the outboard side of the tire. You may also have to remove or modify your fender liner.
