Which tires for '05 STi?

The time has come to replace the Bridgestone Potenza RE070s on my STi and I want to go with a high performance all season tire. Any suggestions on a good all-season performance tire?

That's great, but I need some tires that are going to help to get me through snow too.

For the money the Continental ContiExtremeContacts are the best tires as far as all-season goes. If your willing to spend a little more money than buying summer and snow tires will improve your performance in the both conditions.

I'll have to look into them. I'm probably being way too picky but I'd like something that performs just about as well as the stock RE070s, but that's probably asking too much. I like the performance of the RE070 but hate the tire.

Goodyear F1 GS D3's are the best tires I ever had.
From what I hear the Yokohama AVS ES100's are pretty good.

check out tirerack.com. they have a spread sheet comparing each tire they sell for each category. My Avon Tech 550MS tires held up pretty well in rally-x, daily driving, and heavy rain. They faired well on Laguna Seca grip wise, but that seriously cut their tread life short. After those I had the stock wrx re92s on and realized that the Avon's were kind of loud...still pretty good tires though.

UHP All-Season is the highest all-season category
