tire size choice opinions

hey all,
im looking to buy some tires for my rota sdr's but im torn between two sizes.

205/50/17 or 225/45/17

anyone think 205/50s are a crazy size to wrap on sdrs on a my05? does it looked stretched?

i speculate i wouldnt rub with either sizes.

thoughts?

its a 17x7.5 rim

not sure on offset but its either 48 or 53, if that helps.

205 would be a little stretched I would think, but not a whole lot. I personally run 235/45 on stock BBS as I like a wider tire and the 225 doesn't quite meet the lip of the rim.

Go with 225/45/17, it will sit nicely on a 17x7.5

You shouldn't be worried about the 'stretch' of the tire, it's not an aggressive wheel size, but 205/50/17 will be slightly taller, and it's an off size as a car size tire. Go for width!

good input everyone.

i like the idea of going for width. i shud be able to put some 5mm spacers for a wider stance?

ive always like a wide stance look, just couldnt afford the 10 inch wide rims :-P

225 for sure. Always go with the wider option as long as it is close to the stock size. No, if you don't need spacers to clear something, don't use them.

225/45/17 would fit perfectly, if you wanted more of a stretch look, then maybe go 215/45 instead of the 205/50
