My question isnt about painting vs powder coating or pricing. Its about the stock finish of the rims. My wife is getting my rims powder coated white for me for my xmas present.

Is there a powder coating finish or a spray on finish on stock wheels (2006 wrx 17" Cast Aluminum)? Or are they just the finish the are from casting. I am trying to get price quotes over the phone and need more info to give these people to get a more correct quote.

When I pulled this out of the tiny gift bag I was confused for a while before she told me it was a hint. She couldnt exactly steal my car for 2 weeks or my wheels without me knowing.

And for anyone wondering I am getting them powder coated white.

I got my stock '08 rex rims powder coated matte black for $240 in Oakland. They looked great- Had to look up the name- "Leons Powder Coating"

 

The stockers are painted, not powder coated AFAIK, so they will probably need to be bead blasted first.
