tire size
It depends on what tire you get. Look at the physical width. I don't know what the max for your car is (it also depends on the width and offset of your wheels, but check tirerack for physical tire widths and compare them with whats in there now and the space left.
For my 99 OBS on 17x7 +48 wheels, 8.9" physical dimension works fine on the stock suspension, but I don't really know how this corrolates to an 04

If you want to be safe get the 215/45-17. If not then do a search and see if you can determine which tire you want and weather or not they have rubbing issues.
I'm running 225/45-17 BFG KD's but they rub in the rear so I got the rear fenders rolled. Before I had 215 and had not problems.
Here is a link that may help.

Maybe you have already got the information you need but....
On my '04 wagon I've got 17x7 Prodrive P1's with 225/45/17 Pirelli P-zero Neros with no rubbing. My car is not lowered, if it was, I don't think I could run with these.
