I am trying to figure out what the best size tire would be for my rims that are 18x8.5 +50 offset that wont rub on hard turns. Currently I am riding on jdm sti pinks. so far I think 245 40 r18 should be about right. any suggestions or thoughts?

 

Much taller than stock, therefore much more likely to rub. 225/40R18 is what you want, or 235/40 if you just have to have the extra width. Ideally, you want your tire diameter to be as close to 24.9" as possible without going over.

 

Yeah, a bit tall. I did run a 245/40 18 race tire, and it worked OK, but a 35 profile would be more correct. 245 is a good width though

 

im running 235/40s on my rims right now. they are 18x8.5 +45, no rubbing at all...wait, it did rub a few times at mt hammy but never on the street
