Unhappy tire rubbing on GC8, HELP PLEASE!

i was so happy today receiving my 17x7.5 48 offset rota subzeros today, put them on immediately along with the 225/45/17 SO3s i've already had. the sad thing is, after putting them on, i have a SERIOUS tire rubbing problem. right now im running AGX with intrax springs. i think the problem r the springs, i think they're suppose to lower the car 1.85"?? they'll rub even if i accelerate a little bit harder without turning, dont even mention cornering.

so now the questions is, should i go with some other springs like Eibach which is suppose to lower the car around 1"; or should i just roll the fenders? honestly i dont even know if rolling fenders would solve the problem because right now the rear fenders only fit abt half a finger in there!

are there anyone who's running the same tire+wheels combo as me using Eibach springs can tell me if they'll rub or not?

NEED HELP ASAP!!!! appreciate any input!!

The 225 tire size is a bit more than I'd recommend on the GC8 - even a 215 is likely to require a lip roll. Do you have a camber adjustment kit?

i got 225/45 because they're the same overall diameter as the stock tire size so i wont get any speedo error. i havent seen any problem on the new WRX but i guess i didnt realize i dont own a WRX. anyways so if i switch my tires to 215/45 Yoko ES100 the problem will go away? i dont really want to roll my fenders because i dont want to mess up my paint. or another choice would be change my springs back to stock springs. what do u guys think?

1. change back to stock springs

2. change tires to 215/45/17

3. get camber plates

please guys tell me which way would have the highest probability of solving the rubbing problem.

one last question is would stock WRX springs fit my 01' RS?

Stock WRX springs would not fit on the RS struts. Intrax Springs are crap in my opinion.

I have 215/45R17s with the Prodrive WR suspension and I still have a little bit of rubbing on the front fenders when I corner hard.

225s are way too much for the GC body. And no the 225 is not the same as the stock setup it acutally is a little bit bigger and the 215 is a little bit smaller. The 225 will make your speedo off by reading the speed with a lower value than what you are acutally going. Besides you get a little more torque with the smaller diameter and that is where some power is hidden.

Another thing to consider is the shape of the tire because not all 215s are created equal.

I know you can camber in the front a little bit as I have mine set at 0.8 degrees of negative camber.

If you run the stock setup you should be more than fine with the 215s.

change your springs... get rid of those intrax... they are not made for our cars..

also change to 215/45 17's and you should be ok.. i currently have tein s-tech springs on v5/6 struts that lower the car about almost 2" and i tested 17x7 P7's that have an offest of 53 with 215/45 and i only had a little tiny bit of rubbing when i made a highspeed turn but other than that... no problems...

btw to check if its the same size as stock... use this:

Thats a cool tire size calculator, I like the speedo comparison. Thanks for the link.

I am using P1's so they should not be rubbing but they are. The Prodrive WR suspension drops the car about 3/4ths of an inch in the front and about 1/4th an inch in the rear to make the car flat and level.
