Switching 2008 Impreza Wheels (check engine light comes on)

i changed my factory 16 inch wheels for a new set of 17 inch wheels... now this light comes on on my dash board (ive seen this light before one time when i got a flat tire) so im assuming it has something to do with the differance in tire pressure/size... if this is true is there anyway to reset the computer? or am i just crazy and i got a problem with my car the exact second when i changed my wheels? thanks

it could be tpms tire pressure measuring system a little computer on the rim which communicates with the car now that you switched wheels the computers sends a signal and dose not get one back thats why you got a light i think

if you don't have that button then your SOL because from my quick research i did many people say ignore the light or cover it with electrical tape i will keep an eye out for you tho

i did the same with mine. You cant really do much other then pay for the actual tire monitoring sensors or switch them from your stock wheels to your new wheels. Until you do so the light will stay on. I am currently just rolling around with the light on because i make sure my tire pressure is correct. should be 33 fronts and 32 rears if you are a sedan i think, double check in your owners manual.

the sensor is inside the wheel most mfg attach it to the valve stem on the inside of the wheel if you did not swap them to the new wheels then the light can not be reset.
there should be more info on the system in your owners manual
