I just some gold SDRs delivered today and I am very happy!

These wheels look great. I'm not sure what s ize tires to get.
I have a 2001 RS. I plan on getting Potenza S03 but need to know what will best fit my car. Any answers?

I'm nearly positive you want 215s. GL

^^^I don't think 225s would fit. Especially if your lowered?

Although if you want to roll your fenders...

Do you have any suspension mods?

Same question for me too. I'll be getting some rota's 17x 7.5 I'm wondering what size tire to get. The car is a 98 rs coupe. I've lowered it with perrin springs. And what is exactly rolling the fenders entail?

Don't really know, I've never done it! From what I've read, you bend the fenders around the wheels to allow for ~10 mm more clearance, but the amount changes based on how sever it is. You can have it professionally done, or you can go out with a baseball bat and do it. The problem with it is that you've now bent your car : ouch : but more importantly it often leads to paint problems right around there from bending the metal. YOu won't always have problems with the paint, but there is a good chance you will. Anyway, I'd do a search to learn more, or wait for someone else to answer

As far as what tires to get, I'd go with 215s since its lowered. You'd have to ask someone, but I doubt you'll experience problems even being lowered. I'd look up physical dimensions, of s03's but I don't really know what'l fit your car. Just as a reference, I have a 99 OBS and am running 225s w/o any rubbing. They're ContiSportContacts, and have a phyisical width of 8.9"

Good Luck

Get 215/45/17s and save yourself the headache.

I had a 2001 RS with Tein S-Tech springs and 215/45/17 Kumho tires and they rubbed so I rolled the rear fenders (your just bending up the edge on the edge of the fender) And under extreme cornering with me and a passenger I could still get it to rub. So I personally would not use 225/45 espically if you plan to lower it.

I had 215/45R17 S03s on Prodrive P1s, which are 17x7 +48mm. I had severe rubbing issues in the rear, to the point that I ran -2.5 degrees of camber just to get the wheels to fit. I removed the fender lip liner and partially rolled them by gently forcing the sidewall into the fender as I cruised around Thunder Hill. Anyways, if you're going to run SDRs, which are 17x7.5, I would talk to Aaron@S-Squared about getting your fenders rolled. He's doing mine next weekend, and I've seen the results from the tool S-Squared uses- it works good, no scalloping or paint chipping. By folding the lip in the rears, you should be able to fit 225/45R17 S03s without issue. FWIW, the 225s are only .2-.3" wider in actual tread width than 215s. 215/45 will put you slightly under stock diameter, making the car a tiny bit quicker, while 225s are slightly taller, but you get a bit more grip. Either way, the car will be slightly slower because of the significantly heavier wheel and tire combo.

Oh, and my RS is about 1.2" lower than stock on Prodrive WRX springs/struts. At stock ride height you may not have issues most of the time, but with body roll you still will.

Thanks, I plan on getting STI pinks. I just might have to consider rolling the fenders.
