Ups came today! Springs D.I.Y??
After waiting a week, seemed like a month. I finally recieved my Progress Wrx springs in the mail, just 5min ago. Im so excited. I bought them for $130 off ebay brand new. Ill be sure to post before and after pics for everyone to see. I have some questions, Are wrx springs interchangeable between sedan and wagon? I was so excited that i didnt make sure they where for sedan or a wagon. I have a sedan. Online it said it fits 02-03 wrx's. In the actual box i recieved it said "01-02" wrx (exc Wagon) Should i be affraid because i own a "03" Also should i try to install the springs myself with some friends? My mom said i should just get them professionaly installed. This one shop near my house did a spring install on my old eclipse and allighment for $160. What prices should i expect for a wrx? Thanks everyone
P.s. Does a allighment include camber correction?
I think progress springs can be adjusted using stock camber bolts, is that true?

Should not be a problem...
I do not believe any changes were made to the 03's running gear so those springs should do just fine , you will love them.As for installing them , many on here will say go for it but to me if you have to ask whether you should (like I did ) then a proffessional install is a must unless you know someone with the experience to give you a thorough hand. Many spring complaints are due to improper installations as you can see by searching the subject.
I paid $45 per corner from a local tuner shop here in California and you should expect to pay anywhere from that sum to around $70 per corner.
Allignment is not a problem with these springs and no additional kits are necessary , this will run you anywhere from $69 to $90.
As you can see the springs are the cheapest part of the whole project.
Do not be ashamed to admit that you are not a mechanic and try it on your own if there is any doubt , if you're like me you plan on barreling down the road sometimes hitting three didgets so ask yourself if it's worth the experiment!I am NOT a mechanic but I sure can break things , so I scraped up some dough and erred on the side of caution!
Be safe , drive right and look good!

Progress rocks!
Hvae fun with your install.Lots of people have these springs and love them , I know I do.Progress is a race proven company and they tune some very nice stuff! Even if the price weren't so damn good I would have gotten them for their reputation and for how they perform on my car.
As for the stickers , they were too small for me so I had the image on progress' letterhead made into a decal for my fenders.
I like that kind of stuff and have a certain silver on silver theme I am keeping to, but I respect people who wanna keep a clean ride too.

I did my eibachs myself with help from some friends and they were fairly easy. You won't need springs compressors to install them, but you will need them to remove the old springs.
Make sure to note the position of the strut tops in relation to the strut body before you take them off - that way you can put them back in the same direction!! Key to not screwing up your alignment!!
Espect about 4-5 hours with breaks and lunch!

Yay, i finally got the springs installed yesterday. I talked the guy into installing the springs and doing allighment for $175. He had 3 mechanics doing my car at one time. They did the install and allighment in about a little less then one hour! The owner of the shop, owns two porshe's carrers. He was like Let me race you. You can drive my porshe and ill drive your subaru. Winer gets to keep the other persons car... So he took the subaru around the block to test drive the spring installed. He came back with the big smiles, He said "man bro, that car has *****". After allighment he drove it agian and said" I didn't know subaru can make such a great car. Good acceleration and handleing" After that he continued to ask me how much i pay for the car. What dealer i bought mine from. Im thinkings hes gonna go get one. The drop looks fantastic. Going up the allighment ramps didnt bottom out
! The ride quality is just a littlel bit more stiff. (feels stock almost) The car looks alot more agressive and nice to look at. Ill post pictures soon. Thanks all!

Oh yeah!
What you are looking at and driving around now is what I feel the WRX should look and feel like out of the box!I think it is a far nicer car with sportier springs and you got a fantastic deal there.
As for the "can I drive it ?" syndrome you're not the only one who gets that!I've dropped my son off at school and had several dads ask me the same and how can you say no when they let you drive cars you could never even dream of buying! The best part is when it's all said and done, they are more impressed than
you and you get to go home with the Suby!
