i know i am not luke, but as for your question it will depend on your wheel width and offset

i have seen 255 wide toyo ra-1s on advan rcIIs on a wrx sedan, given he did have to cut his fender some but it worked

17x8.5in RCIIs? W/ 45mm offset? How much did he have to trim/cut the fender? Is this guy part of i-club? Just today I was trying to see if 245s would fit...

I am running 245/40/17's on my RCII's 17x8.5 +45.

I just cut the rear fender lip. There is still plenty of room.

255 will also fit.

Imprezer: I have a wagon & I wanted 245s or 255s...I actually PMed you about this a while ago, but I got no reply. Do you think that with that same set up (17x8.5, et 45 on 245/40s) would work on a wagon? If not, how much modification would be needed? Just removing the plastic lining on the lip/removing the lip or would someone have to break out the BFH? After my rudimentry test fitting & have pretty much resigned myself to 235s.

Ish: That hurts...you just doused out my flickering flame of hope. Woe is me.

Was that the common choice, or were they spec'd?

I'd imagine that was the tire of choice, seeing as how they are generally thought of as the best summer performance tire.
