questions
i really dont know if this question should be in the suspension forum or this forum, well anyway i just came back from lake tahoe trip as you know there plently of snow. Well.. when i finally hit snow my car starts to swerve side to side like its front wheel drive or somthing. I have Tein lowering springs all i know its 2.1 drop in front and 1.3 drop in rear, i have stock tires so would it be the tire problems or the suspension? because i only was able to drive 40 MAX to have control of the car.
That sounds normal, its the tires, suspension and the snow. The stock tires are just ok in the snow but not great and stiffer suspension allows less 'play' for suspension travel. You just have to be more careful. If you go up often I would suggest investing in another set of stock rims and some snow/AS tire to swap for the seasons. You can find them for cheap, I was lucky and found 4 wheels with snow tires for $425 on craigslist.
Suspension does make a difference. A bigger sway bar can cause the rear to break more than w/ the stock sway. But tires play the biggest part. I don't drive over 40 if there is snow on the road. Better safe than dead.

yea true, thanks but the werid part there wasnt much snow it was just like really wet, and this happen in sacramento also when it was pouring my car starts to slide at 60mph. whould this be part of the tire or is somthing really wrong because i had same problem in the heavy rain but just i could go a little faster
What tires are you running? Some of these summer tires really suck in the rain. The RE070's that come stock on STI's suck in the rain. So do BFG KD's. Absolutely horrible. Also, if your tread is low, your tire treads might not be deep enough to make good contact and causing you to hydroplane.
