Hey all,
I wanted to hear your opinions and experience using spacers (5mm etc). I am trying to decide between purchasing new wheels to fit over the brembos or just get 5mm spacers to go along with the Volk TE37's I already have (17x7.5 48mm offset)?
Im not sure how safe/reliable wheel spacers are.
thanks for looking,
GDA

I have always been told that to safely get the spacing is to find the wheels that you like in the spacing that you need... I have not heard anything bad about using spacers, Just a caution the wider you go the more parts will ware out. I have been using 30mm in my Honda for SOLO and I go through wheel bearings every other year or so.
The only thing that can sugest is that they fit completly over the hub surface itself with little space or gaps, this should provide the best strength

depending on what kind of spacer you get.. i.e. universal or direct fit you may have some issues with the wheels spinning correctly.
if you are using the universal ones.. make you you put the spacer as close to center as possible... put the wheel on while still up in the air, have someone inside the car hold the brakes while you tighten the bolts.
this will help out a little to keep the wheel properly attached

I would be using the H&R spacers made for 5x100 subaru's. I ordered some wheels last week, and now that I think about it I should have just gone for the spacers, as the wheels I ordered are 17x8 35mm offset and at this point worried about stressing the bearings prematurely.
thanks,

5mm spacers should be no problem and the H&R spacers are very well made. You may lose the hubcentricity of the wheel, so just tighten your lugnuts with the wheels off the ground.
