When you start a reply with "WTF are you trying to say? you have little room to tell that person not to get defensive later. Anyways, are you arguing with my choice of phrase, or with the argument I was making? I used 245/40 and 245/35 in that sentence because those are the two sizes he would be looking at, assuming the 245/35 is available in a tire he would buy.
The point of this thread is to determine the widest tires that a person can run with a given wheel on a given vehicle. If you think I'm telling people that tires will fit that won't, or just completely full of **** with my advice in this thread, then feel free to flame away and attempt to prove me wrong. But if you're using grammar as an excuse to start an argument in a tech thread, then you need to just drop it and go to a forum where that's tolerated.
P.S.- thread subscriptions and email notification FTW.

If anything, you're the one being defensive, especially since your own attack has been rebuffed.
Bottome line is that NO ONE can defend that statement. If you want to be a part of the disinformation machine that is the internet, so be it. But I'd rather give good, solid advice. If I don't know something, I do not state it as a fact.

I just know that YOU know better. It is not as if you misspelled something. You wrote something that is incorrect. I am sorry you feel this is minor, but it is not. Once again, I think you made a innocent mistake, but a mistake none-the-less...
If you feel differently, then defend your statement.
all things being equal, if you mount a 245/40 and a 235/40 on the same wheel, the 245 will be taller.
