little help with tires size

hey guys im about to get an after market rims soon because im just sick of the old plain boring subaru stock rims on the 04 wrx. I was wondering what size i should for? i kinda wanna close the gap that i have between the tires and my fenders, but i dont want it to be hella big, because not a big fans on huge wheels especially for a small compact car. Thanks for the help!

Can't close the fender gap with wheels, you need springs for that. But that's no reason not to get wheels anyway. I would recommend a 225/45R17 tire on 17x7.5 wheels with an offset between 48 (all Rotas) and 53 (stock).

If anything, plus sizing with bigger wheels makes your wheelwells look bigger (compared to your tire width).

You shouldn't use bigger tires to close the gap because it will throw off your speedo and gearing - like bansuvs said, you're going to need springs for that
