Hankook makes a complete line of Race Tires which we are the distributor for. For Stock Autocross the Z212 is great. If you want R compound then they have two models to chose. The Z211 or the high end Z214. Both the R compounds come in either Track or AutoX compounding. They come in less than Hoosiers and grip just as good if not better. They definitely have a better Cycle life.

Additionally we have the Hankook Rally tires available. These tires are very inexpensive. And for those who would like to run full slicks we have those as well. Hankook came with a full arsenal for the U.S. market. It has been OK, but I expect next year to be really good as the word gets out on the speed and quality.

I just got some SR2 and they're really good tires. I've put about 1,000 miles on them so far. Dry traction is simply awesome, wet traction is suprisingly good. That's what I was really worried about when I got these, because we do get a decent amount of winter rain in Central California... It was raining last night so I decided to do some driving and was very impressed on how it handled standing water, braking, accelerating... The only downsides I can think of right now would be noise and wear (typical), the tradeoff is well worth it.

I know its an old thread, but I'm still bumping it.

What are the current thoughts on the r-s2 z212's? Still a good tire or is there something better for the same price? And for those that are using them, how many miles have you gotten out of them? I'll be doing mostly daily/spirited driving with a track day (or two if I have enough $$$)

Just did. Z214 C70 (soft compound) Hankooks are 1.5 seconds faster for me around TH than RA-1's. I ran 2:09.8 w/ the Hankooks vs. 2:11.8 with the RA's, but 2:11.8 is done with 70 lbs. ballast so I attribute .5 to the weight. The grip difference is phenomenal, but I only expect this set to be fast for about 4 sessions.
