Meguiar's has a great product for cleaning wheels, called 'Wheel Brightener', which is part of their professional detailing line of products, is a purple liquid and comes in a one gallon jug.

As far as I know, there is no product that is very effective at repelling brake dust.

I have used Meguiar's Synthetic Paint Sealant on my stock STi Silver alloys, and it does help prevent the brake dust from covering the entire wheel with brake dust, but what I have noticed is the brake dust just collects in mounds on the outside edge of the "hoop" of the wheel.

If you don't clean your wheels enough, what happens then is that these mounds of brake dust turn into hard-to-remove clumps that require scraping with plastic tools to finally remove from the surface.

Mix a 50/50 mix of armoall brake cleaner and CLR. Spray it on, let sit for 30 secs, and pressure wash off. Dust is gone.

I'm going to start using a new product, called "Brake Buster", from P&S professional detailing supplies.

It's supposed to work as well as Meguiar's Wheel Brightener, but is more gentle to the finish of the wheels.

I pick it up from a professional detail products wholesale supplier for $13/gallon.

I'll post up how well it works after I get a chance to use it.

Try Hawk HPS pads-besides more grip than stock, there is very little visible dust and the dust isn't greasy.
