Dexter, can I use taller tires for snow tires?

195/65 poses no apparent problems. I only have the Blizzaks in this size, the 195/60s, and 205/60s. We ordered TONS of Blizzaks this year because they got our best results ever on the ice-rink test last year.

Used 195/65/15s last year

Hey MX,

I used the 195/65/15 last year on my 2000 RS. That size worked great. A lot less float than the 205/55/16s I'm running this year on my 04 WRX.

If you can, look into the Yokohama Guardex 600. This is the best SNOW and ICE tire I've used to date. Better grip in snotty weather than even my Blizzaks. The treadwear is much better too. They're squishy when it gets warm, but for snow traction I haven't used anything better.

As an aside, I'm running Hankook W404 this year. Not as nearly impressed as with the Guardex. They're pretty squirrely in dry conditions, and strong side winds scare the crap out of me. They handle just ok in the snow, and float as mentioned above.

good luck with your search.
