RE92s should last about 20-30k miles, with many fewer smiles. 17s are great on the wagon. You'll find that light wheels are expensive for a reason - complex and high tech manufacturing. I had some heavyweight 18s on my wagon at one time and the car lost its "umph." Didn't seem to pull as well. 17" SSR Comps quickly solved the problem.

when upgrading to the 17's you might also want to start thinking about looking into suspension mods also. If you're upgrading to 17's and thinking about performance tires (215(225)/45/17), but you have stock suspension and ride height you're going to get some pretty big fender gap.

second the rotas if you're on a budget, check out suby dude. maybe some bronze sdr's.

With lower profile tires the car will start to look like a monster truck, but it's not really that bad w/ 17s.
